An idea for blogs, for my blogs and I need your input.

155th blog

Those of you who are regular readers of my weekly blog will know that normally, on this first Sunday of the month, I would have published an interview with the latest in my “featured artist” series for your enjoyment. I had two wonderful ladies all lined up to do this month (November) and next. Sadly, one is currently in hospital (get well soon, B) and, unfortunately, the other is super busy and has slightly over committed herself. This meant I couldn’t bring her interview forward to this month to fill the gap, but she will, fingers crossed, have something for me to fill the December spot. So, apologies for the lack of a featured artist this month. Sometimes, real life just gets in the way and that’s just fine.

Anyway, while this situation is unfortunate, it does allow me the opportunity to share something else with you. I have had this idea floating around at the back of my mind for a little while now and maybe this is the right time to share it with you and, hopefully, get your feedback.

For the past three or more years I have been writing about art, artists, art materials and record keeping. I fully intend to write more on the same topics, including record keeping as it is so important to running our businesses (Sorry, Ed but it’s just too important to leave out 😊). I’m referring here, to my Editor, of course. His name isn’t Ed. but since he and my husband share the same name, things can get confusing, which is why I refer to him as Ed and my husband as Mr. S in my blogs.

Some of the wonderful people who have been featured

So far, my focus has been primarily on art and artists, but I am aware that so many of the people I know have other passions and I thought I would like to include those people or, more importantly, those passions. The details still need to be ironed out and your feedback would be really appreciated but some of the artists I know are passionate about other things which are not just art.

Not only are some of these passions really interesting, but some are also about world issues such as climate change, veganism, yoga, women’s rights etc. I know people who are crafters making cards, books, dresses, purses, or jewellery and most of these people do this quietly behind the scenes and never tell anyone about it.

I would really love to celebrate their endeavours and works here so we can all share their passion(s) if you, my readers, would be interested. I do intend to continue with the featured artist interviews, and I am planning to revisit some of the artists I wrote about when I started this project, so that we can see what has happened to them in the past couple of years, but I thought throwing in an occasional ‘passion’ piece might be of interest and, possibly, provide a little variety.

Please let me know what you think and if you know anyone who has a passion who would like to share it, please ask them to contact me. I would love to hear from them.

If you have enjoyed reading this post, please like and follow me and please share it with people who you think might be interested. I am always on the lookout for new artists to feature as I know how much everyone enjoys reading about other artists. Also, if you think there is a subject you would like to know more about and would like me to write about, I will be happy to consider it. Sharing, liking, and following my blogs increases the number of people the algorithm shows the blogs to, so please share. Thank you in advance for supporting me this way.
